The store we’ve all been waiting for
Whether you are a hipster or a total hick, there is something for you at Nude Foods
(From January 2018) I am just back from my first visit to Nude Foods, the grocery store we have all been waiting for! I do mean all of us.
Cape Town’s new plastic-free grocer is heaven for hipsters, for sure, with its hemp seeds, ocean-friendly body and hair treatments and environmentally friendly home cleaning products. It is a veritable lezzer nirvana with all those non-GMO pulses and legumes and natural fibre face clothes.
But, even if you are a totally unreformed meat-eating, SUV-driving capitalist you will probably like the raw understated style of the green-green grocer with its exposed brickwork and sexy container-ing of extra virgin olive oil, balsamic and etc. The target-obsessed, outcomes-focused busy bees will love the convenience of it all. Just a few minutes away from worshipping at the altar of your own busy-ness and you will have achieved low cost, high impact efficiency (and probably a few super cool selfies) as you filled your hessian sack with delicious and affordable wholefoods.
Over the years, Nude has become a go-to as we have tried to be a little more conscious of the choices we make. Stop in there for everything from ocean-friendly sunscreen to cruelty-free eggs and (I am never able to resist) the fridge packed with the most unbelievably tasty chocolate and nut treats. There is always something new and interesting there and the fabulously informed staff treat us like us old friends.
Seriously, whether you are a hipster or a total hick you will love Nude Foods at 5 Constitution Street, East City Precinct, Cape Town.
